While not official as of this writing, it’s certainty that AJ Styles and Shane McMahon will have a match, as will Triple H and Seth Rollins. Curt Hawkins has joined the growing field for the annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
John Cena is rumored to be planning to propose to Nikki Bella at Wrestlemania. Nikki has been rumored for sometime as making this year’s Wrestlemania the stage for her retirement.
Shinsuke Nakamura is said to be the next NXT name to be called up to the main roster. He’s slated to debut after Wrestlemania.
Wrestlemania 33 has yet to commence but plans for Wrestlemania 34 are already in motion. The showcase goes to the Mercedes-Benz Kingdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on Sunday April 8, 2018. As first reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Observer, the main event is slated to be Brock Lesnar facing off against Roman Reigns for the World Title. While it’s yet to be set in stone, their previous match was well received. It’s also rumored that Brock will get the belt after beating Goldberg, who’s rumored to be bowing out of the WWE after WM 33.
Dennis Stamp passed away Monday due to lymphoma at age 70. Stamp’s career spanned the 1970s and 1980s, mainly in AWA and NWA. He was a Texas native and worked with many icons during his 20 year career, such as Ted “The Million Dollar Man” Dibiase, The Funks, Billy “Superstar” Graham, and Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka. He starred in Sylvester Stallone’s Paradise Alley but he is best known for his appearance in the controversial 1999 expose, Beyond the Mat. He enjoyed a modest renaissance as a result of the documentary’s success.
Roman Reigns is speculated to be joining SmackDown via this year’s draft. Reigns’ jump to SmackDown rumor has persisted for quite some time but never to pass. It may finally happen since Smackdown’s current stable is very thin when it comes to top babyfaces, outside of a part-time John Cena.
