Rays manager Kevin Cash officially gives Snell the nod for Opening Day.
Duh. This comes as absolutely no shock as Blake Snell is coming off of a season where he won the American League Cy Young award.
The 26-year-old took his game to the next level last season going 21-5 with a 1.89 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP. Snell also amassed 221 strikeouts in 180 2/3 innings of work.
All career bests.
Snell will likely be squaring off against Cy Young runner up, Justin Verlander, and the Houston Astros.
