A dark match has been added to NXT Takeover: WarGames card. The match will be a United Kingdom Title match between Pete Dunne and Johnny Gargano.
Paige, who is training for her comeback, has raised eyebrows by claiming she’s single. A Paige fan account on Twitter posted a video Thursday featuring her bemoaning that she’s single while a couple was making out in the background. It’s believed that it’s her first public comment about her relationship status since the well documented dust up between her and Alberto Del Rio/El Patron at in Orlando, Florida just a few months ago. Whether or not it’s true, remains to be seen.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Hideo Itami may return to Japan after his WWE contract. It’s even more shocking that he was being groomed to move to the cruiser weight division, according to pwinsider.com earlier this week.
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE officials have been engaged in discussions about bringing back Hulk Hogan. The idea has been floating for sometime now but there’s been reservations because of the concern about the possibility of negative media reaction of the Hulkster coming back after being outed for making racist comments and for his involvement in one of the more scandalous sex tape incidents in recent years. Hogan was involved in talks with joining another promotion recently but those fell apart due to it not making economic sense according to sources.
Emma is actively looking to continue her wrestling career after being among the surprise layoffs that have been happening in the WWE as of late. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, she was recently in talks with the World Wonder Ring Stardom promotion in Japan. Talks fell apart because Stardom balked at Emma’s asking price, which was $2,000 per match, first class plane tickets, and full creative control.
According to pwinsider.com, WWE is going to sign Rockstar Spud to a contract whose details are yet to be disclosed. Rockstar joins Bram, Earl Hebner, Marshe Rockett, Taryn Terrell, Eddie Kingston, Robbie E, Jeff Jarrett, Low Ki, MJ Jenkins and Reno Scum in the recent exodus as of late. Rockstar is currently in England while his paperwork and visa are being hashed out.
Former WWE announcer, Jonathan Coachman announced on Twitter that he is leaving ESPN. Coach worked for WWE from 1999 until 2008 and was influential in WWE getting coverage on ESPN. He cited personal and professional reasons as to why he’s leaving and he also says he has several projects in development that will be revealed in the future.
Former TNA and WWE star, Matt Morgan has been elected the Longwood District 4 Commissioner in Florida. Matt won the race with 58.5% of the vote. Matt is also the co host of Wrestling Inc. and was a gladiator (Beast) on American Gladiators in 2008.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the post match segment after Sami Zayn vs. Kofi Kingston during the WWE’s UK Tour as to why Sami and Kevin Owens were sent back home. They gave the impression that they avoided getting beat up, which drew the ire of the brass.
The behind the scenes reason behind Jinder Mahal’s shocking title loss was Smackdown’s low rating on Halloween. Vince McMahon wanted to shake things up as a result and thus Jinder lost the belt. It’s expected that he’ll regain the title as WWE heads to India next month.
James Ellsworth contract is ending November 30 and there’s speculation that he may be leaving since there’s been no news as of yet about a new deal. Ellsworth has proven to be a popular addition to SmackDown, especially with the Ellsworth-Carmella alliance. That angle appears to be done judging by the most recent SmackDown.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE will be scaling back the number of pay per views in 2018. The reasoning behind the decision is that since the current schedule and model hasn’t proven to be cost-effective with the WWE Network model since more PPVs hasn’t proven to increase subscribers.
Josh Bredl is the latest talent to be released by WWE. Josh was the winner of Tough Enough in its sixth season. He had suffering from what is believed to be concussion related injuries and had not been training. With the exception of Emma, all the talent that has been released have been dealing with injuries. Tough Enough has only produced one top star, The Miz.
Former WWE star, Simon Gotch, is slated to make his debut in Ring of Honor this weekend as Simon Grimm. He was one half of The Vaudevillians in WWE until his dismissal due to allegations of no shows and having an increasingly poor attitude.
