Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Cedric Alexander (born Cederick Johnson) wrestled in Mid Atlantic’s Carolina Wrestling Federation, Premiere Wrestling Xperience, WrestleForce and Pro Wrestling EVO, but had his most prolific run since his debut in Ring of Honor in 2010.
Alexander made a name for himself in the tag team division alongside his longtime partner, Caprice Coleman. Dubbed C&C Wrestle Factory, these men had numerous stellar matches and brutal wars against Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team, S.C.U.M., ACH & TaDarius Thomas and ReDragon. Despite a strong three-year run with several decisive victories, C&C Wrestle Factory never achieved ROH tag team gold.
Two years ago, Alexander went on to pursue singles success. Some of his most memorable matches were against greats such as Kevin Steen (Owens) at the Raising the Bar event. At All Star Extravaganza VI, he and Jay Lethal tore the house down. At Tag Wars, he and Tommaso Ciampa beat each other to a pulp in a no DQ grudge match.
Alexander possesses a high flying, high impact offense alongside a unique physique and charisma which can bring a crowd of hundreds or thousands to their feet in excitement. He is long overdue for championship gold. If Ring of Honor is not prepared to pull the trigger on a title run, could he do what Mike Bennett did and make the jump to TNA? Or perhaps, Cedric could follow in Kevin Steen’s shoes and make the jump to WWE’s developmental system, NXT?
Watching a Cedric Alexander match is truly the highlight of a show. Hopefully Ring of Honor realizes the gem that they possess sooner rather than later.
