Taya Valkyrie Will Not Be at Bound For Glory

Impact Wrestling has had a tempestuous 2017, to say the least. But losing a match like Taya Valkyrie vs. Rosemary, the night before your biggest pay-per-view of the year, is calamitous.

As reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Taya Valkyrie will not be able to make Bound For Glory.  Taya was scheduled in one of two high profile matches at BFG.  Her Rosemary would compete in a first blood match, cleverly titled Red Wedding Match. Impact only had this to say,

“Due to circumstances beyond our control @TheTayaValkyrie will not be at #BFG2017 or the tapings. We look forward to seeing Taya in 2018.”

Taya sent a tweet to fans, but was also vague when it came to details.

“And just to clarify to the “know it alls”, I didn’t “pull out” of BFG, I am un able to be there to whole week due to personal reasons.”

Impact Wrestling has taken hit after hit over the past year. They lost the hottest act in wrestling at the time, Broken Matt Hardy & Brother Nero. This occurred because of mismanagement of contract negotiations by new owners, Anthem Sports. Their merger with Global Force Wrestling lasted all of a few months before they parted ways and Jeff Jarrett was asked to go home. The company’s inability to get on a higher profile network than Pop TV continues to hamper exposure for their product. Nearly every referee on the roster exited the company.

Impact lost a major match the night before Bound For Glory, however. This is a big deal. Bound For Glory is for Impact Wrestling what WrestleMania is for World Wrestling Entertainment. Wrestling fans wait with bated breath. Impact’s luck falls somewhere between Charlie Brown and Peter Parker level. The Scrum Sports will keep an eye on any further developments.
