Major League Wrestling signs a television deal.
Firstly, as reported by Wrestling Inc, the promotion will do business with beIN Sports. Antonio Briceno of beIN Sports had this to say about the deal,
“We are thrilled to be adding Major League Wrestling to our programming line-up—bringing beIN SPORTS’ loyal viewers a front row seat to the high-energy action in the ring. At beIN SPORTS USA, providing passionate sports fans with coverage of world-class sporting events and content is what we strive for, and will continue to deliver with the addition of MLW.”
Furthermore, Chief Executive Officer of MLW, Court Bauer, also gave his thoughts,
“This is a big day for Major League Wrestling. We’re excited to be part of the beIN SPORTS family. To have Major League Wrestling on the fastest-growing sports network in the world and aligned with some of the most prestigious sports properties is a big deal.”
MLW will premiere on Friday, April 20th at 8pm/7pm Central.
Will Ospreay may miss NOLA shows Mania weekend
Will Ospreay is possibly the most death defying high flyer in pro wrestling today. However, as we’ve learned so often, the high risk wrestling style of today likely is putting another on the shelf for the time being. At Sakura Genesis, Ospreay attempted one of his signature moves and came off the apron, hitting his head on the apron on the way down. Consequently, the injury, along with potential others lingering, leaves Ospreay’s indy appearances in New Orleans in question.
As a result, Ospreay took to Twitter to explain the situation.
“Hey guys I’m ok. But I might not be fit to compete for NOLA. I’ll update you once I know more.”
We wish Ospreay a speedy recovery.
