This week behind the barricades, a new Raw champion is crowned and Rusev Day is done. Former WWE talents shoot on Vince McMahon. An original GLOW wrestler passes away. We will look in to the good, the bad, and what the *bleep* in this week of pro wrestling! Let’s get started!
The Good:
A new unprecedented match.
Let me start off about this match and the tag of “unprecedented”. Undoubtedly, this is the first match for me.. that will be in ALL three categories. Yup, that good, that bad, and what the *bleep*! Let’s start with the good. Asuka vs Sasha Banks for the Women’s Raw Championship was an OUTSTANDING match! This is what you would expect from Asuka and Banks. This great performance is marred in a couple ways. Don’t let this stop you from watching this match. Raw has been constantly good to great in the past few weeks.
MJF is a gift and so is Keith Lee.
MJF cut a promo on Dynamite that resonated in a way. Not only the undefeated wrestler in AEW will get a a championship match vs Jon Moxley, but he had a “Presidential” conference. MJF talked about the “Old Guard” being the reason younger talent like himself not getting a chance. The promo was absolutely about himself, but it resonated with me, because I just got done talking with our fellow writer Joel. It was about the none of the promotions pushing the younger talent. Let MJF become a prophet and he will lead you to a promise land.
Keith Lee continues to show the world why he was a double champion. Such as the triple threat match with Karrion Kross and Cameron Grimes, Lee still shined. There was a way for Kross to steal the spotlight, but Lee’s performance made it a distant memory. That was the good, here is the bad.
The Fiend knows no boundaries.
Bray Wyatt warned Braun on the Firefly Fun House that “he” (The Fiend) will not stop until “he” gets what “he” wants. In that case, is the Universal title. To sum up, The Fiend attacked Alexa Bliss at the end of SmackDown. Without a doubt, this was the highlight of SmackDown. Not only The Fiend targeted a well beloved star, but one that can be said loved by Strowman. Because of this, I can wager a Braun Strowman like we have never seen. In fact, a true monster, that will do everything to destroy The Fiend.
The bad:
Asuka vs Sasha Banks.
Didn’t I tell you about this match? Well you know the “Good”, here is the “Bad”. The ending was horrible, to have Asuka lose her title by a count out, was bad booking. I only say that because of the reason for the count out. With this in mind, it was a great match, that left a sour taste in fan’s mouth.
Big tag match fell flat, a match that would’ve been great on PPV, not TV.
AEW started the night with a huge 10-man tag team match. Jurassic Express/Best Friends/Orange Cassidy vs The Inner Circle. I know, right?! What a huge match! Unfortunately, it was full of botches and mistiming. What could’ve been a show steal of of a match, turn into a forgettable match. Same can be said about Johnny Gargano vs Roderick Strong. I mean, these are two guys that can wrestle their arses off! The thing is Johnny and Roderick are two semi-heels.. who do you cheer for?! Nevertheless the match was good. In fact it would’ve great with an extra 10 minutes on a TakeOver PPV. So, for TV… this was a disappointment, not from the two guys, but from booking.
What the *Bleep*?!
Why did Asuka leave the match?
I told you this was an unprecedented match. This is one the few matches in my current memory, that included all three categories. The match was great, the ending was some will say bad. The reason for the ending is what made yell “WHAT THE *BLEEP*?!”. Yes, we all get that WWE thrives on angering their fans. It’s cheap heat. In conclusion WWE had Asuka to run out the ring because Bayley was attacking Kairi Sane was an oversight.
This was a standard attack. Bayley did not hold Sane over a pit of sharks with lasers attached to their heads, or about to drop 10 tons of concrete on her. In short.. no, this was a standard attack backstage that we have all witness MANY times. Additionally this was Kairi Sane’s last appearance in WWE. As a result being a “damsel in distress” and costing her best friend the title. With this in mind, WWE.. you love that fact people are angry about this. Even so, you fail to realize why the fans are angry about this.
The news for the week.
The news for the week involves that Rusev Day is over! An original GLOW wrestler has passed away. Fires shot from former WWE talent at Vince! Kevin Owens and Excalibur past video footage. The Dutch Destroyer is not enough for Vince?
Rusev Day over?
The Bulgarian Brute has had some interesting and maybe sad news on his Twitch stream. Miroslav Barnyashev stated that he is not going to sign with AEW, Impact, or NJPW. In addition, The Bulgarian Brute states that he is DONE with Pro Wrestling and wants to be a streamer on Twitch. Miro is quoting from his Twitch channel as
“I’m just enjoying my Twitch. I’m a professional Twitcher, YouTuber, content creator. I’m done. I’m done, man. I’m just enjoying my Twitch. I’m a professional Twitcher, YouTuber, and content creator. I’m not a wrestler anymore. Can I be your favorite streamer?”
Importantly, there may be a problem to Miro’s Twitch account. Because of the recent banning of his Twitch page. Twitch has VERY strict rules a”bout “nudity and attire”. One of his latest streams featured his wife Catherine Joy “CJ” Perry aka Lana, in a bikini. As Twitch guidelines are as stated:
“Swimwear is permitted as long as it completely covers the genitals, and those who present as women must also cover their nipples. Full coverage of buttocks is not required, but camera focus around them is still subject to our sexually suggestive content policy. Coverage must be fully opaque, even when wet. Sheer or partially see-through swimwear or other clothing does not constitute coverage.”.
As a result, Miro has updated since the ban.
I was too sexy for Twitch. I learned my lesson. See y’all tomorrow https://t.co/LpksrVZZJM

The Farmer’s Daughter passes away.
Beckie Mullen has passed away this week at the age of 55. As “Sally the Farmer’s Daughter”, Beckie was one of the well loved and original members of G.L.O.W. The staple of the original promotion was battling stage 4 kidney, colon, and liver cancer. Sadly, Mullen was diagnosed with the horrible news in October 2019. Furthermore, her doctors told her that she does not have much time to live. Sadly, her battle with cancer came to an end on July 28th, 2020. Rest in piece Sally, you were truly special.
Vince a madman?
News has been coming out that Vince McMahon is a little mad. Former WWE talents, Eric Young and Jon Moxley had some choice words while working for WWE. AEW champion, Moxley is quoted as..
” it’s like working for a 74yr old madman”.
Returning Impact star, Eric Young also stated.
“If you have a three hour pro wrestling television show and you can’t find something for me to do, then you’re failing as a leader. Plain and simple. You failed your company. You failed the shareholders, you failed the fans and you failed yourself. The reason I wasn’t on the show was his choice. No one else’s”.
While this is nothing new, this could be a glimpse behind the barricades. Furthermore, please remember this is pro wrestling and heat about a former employer may be used to generate interest. What do y’all think.. Vince a 74yr old madman or 74yr old genius?
The past resurfaces.
This week an old video of Kevin Owens and Excalibur of AEW resurfaced. This video is shown that K.O and Excalibur using the N-word to get cheap heat. This video is around 15yrs old, we are not condoning the words used. Indeed this word is nothing but toxic. With this in mind, this was a video that was already acknowledge by Excalibur and he profusely apologized about the situation. Also, Excalibur was not on this week’s AEW Dynamite, further speculating this video. We here at The Scrum Sports do not condone ANY use of ANY derogatory slurs. In addition, we wait until the full facts are out, before we make a final judgement.
What happened to Aleister Black?
On this week’s RAW, Aleister Black was taken out by Murphy with the dreaded steel steps eye gouge. This according from Talksport, that Aleister Black has been written off TV because Vince McMahon wants to repackage Black. Also, furthering speculation, Black posted an Instagram post stating..
“There is blood on my shoes, and I understand I have to take accountability in this. But let me tell you a story:
See my father was a cruel man, and he was cruel because his father was cruel to him. So I created a narrative that evil was a perspective as means to not be like him.
And now I must re-write 4 years of my own history by getting rid of that weakness. The same weakness that caused this betrayal, this is where my accountability ends, and yours starts.”,
Vince has been fan of Tom Budgen, Black’s real name. However, not his gimmick according to Tom Colohue of Sportskeeda. Although, The Scrum Sports rarely dive into rumors. But for Black to post this on his Instagram right after his eye was “gouged” out, makes a suspect repackaging. What do y’all think? Will Aleister be repackaged for Vince’s tastes or not? -David G.
