A WWE Legend flies, while two WWE Legends fight for The World Cup. The go home show for Evolution!

Tonight on the last “Go Home” show for the first ever WWE all female PPV show, Evolution. Will the WWE entice viewers to watch it? Will the WWE continue to show support for Roman Reigns? What will go down in the final live show before the historic WWE PPV? Let’s dive in on our Smackback recap!

A brighter opening than Raw. Tag team rematch from last week. Former “friends” fight it out.

It’s a New Day.

Last nigh on Raw, Roman Reigns vacated the Universal Championship belt, due to his real life battle with leukemia. In Raw, it blanket the entire show in sadness. However, WWE would like for you to know that today is a new day. In which, New Day opened the show with the ability to have a comical segment and lighten the overall mood. New Day went on how they were robbed of their titles due a common turn. That turn is The Big Show, New Day states what we all know., that  The Big Show flips more than a flap jack. That line would make long time fans chuckle and gave the start of the show much needed brightness. Kofi calls out anyone from the stable to fight him. Soon after the stable I have coined “The Big Bar” arrives and a match is going to start.

The Big Show wins via DQ

The Big Bar arrives and choose Big Show to face off against Kofi. It was a great decision, as Big Show chopped a hole into Kofi and slung him into turnbuckles like a rag doll. Kofi attempted an offense, but was quickly sedated by Big Show’s power. Big Show delivers not one, or two, but THREE Chokeslams on Kofi! Xavier and Big E run in to save any other damage that Kofi would have endured and Kofi was disqualified. A brawl ensues and The Big Bar quickly ends New Day, feeding Big Show every member for a finisher, and The Big Bar stands tall.

A recap of Roman Reigns tearful speech.

If you follow WWE or not, you might have heard on the shocking and sad reason that Roman Reigns vacated the WWE Universal Championship. If not, WWE showed a video package before the next match. I usually do not cover a video package. However, Roman’s fight deserves to never be forgotten. Get well Roman.

Usos ve AJ Styles/Daniel Bryan rematch. The Usos win via pinfall.

Last week a fantasy booking was made. AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan vs The Usos. In which the Usos won by an accidental strike for the in fall. This week should be different, right? Bryan and Jimmy start the match off, as they lock up. The two feel each other out and then Jey blind tags in. What follows is that AJ and Bryan quickly dispose of The Usos to the outside of the ring. Leaving The Usos to recollect and plan their future assault. SmackDown cuts to their picture in picture commercial break. Within that break, The Usos start to take control of Daniel Bryan, targeting every limb of Bryan. The American Dragon fights out of the beating and hot tags AJ. What ensues is quick paced counter fest. In which AJ accidentally hits Daniel Bryan with the Pele kick, during a tag team move. The hit gives Jimmy an opportunity to land a Superfly Splash for the win pin.

After the break, both AJ and Bryan are interviewed. The both argue about the last two matches ending in an accident. Then Bryan mocks the “Too Sweet” hand gesture as AJ walks away. Tensions are building for this face off.

Rusev gets revenge. The Miz taunts a legend. Who is in the forefront of the Women’s Battle Royal?

Rusev vs Aiden English. Rusev wins via submission.

In a quick retribution match, Rusev and Aiden English face off. The match started off with The Bulgarian Brute quickly overpowering the Operatic Singer. English runs outside the ring, with Rusev following. Then lands a few moves to put Rusev on hold. However, then Aiden’s attention focuses on Lana. While distracted, Rusev lands a Macha Kick before locking in the Accolade. English taps out.

Miz TV, a legend, and a match.

The Miz starts off his “AWWEESSOOMMEE” segment on Smackdown Live. The Miz guest is none other than the Mayor of 619, Rey Mysterio. The two banter off against each other in a very entertaining way. You can tell that both performers enjoyed putting on this segment. The Miz stated that he has done “everything in this business” while not acknowledging Rey’s accomplishments outside of WWE.

Mysterio fired back with the disappointment of not knowing that he wasn’t booked on Truth TV. The statement enraged The Miz and a fight broke out. A quick scuffle happened & we are treated to a full on match between The Miz and Rey Mysterio.

Rey Myserio wins via 619 to Splash pin fall.

The match begins between the high flyer and the big talker. The Mayor of 619 quickly gains control of the match. Rey hits a sliding splash under the bottom ropes with The Miz outside. Then Rey lands a springboard splash for the two count. The two go back and forth, with Miz chocking Rey between the ropes, and Mysterio countering the Skull Crushing Finale with a hurricanrana. The show goes to a break, after the break Miz is in control. Landing the start of his famous “It Kicks”, Rey dodges the finale kick and lands a Senton Bomb. The Miz takes control and lands a big boot on Rey for a two count. Now the frustrated Miz goes for a Skull Crusher Finale, but Rey counters. Landing the 619 and body splash for the win.

A preview of the Women’s Battle Royal at Evolution.

At first this was a match between Naomi/Asuka vs Sonya DeVille. However The Iconics decide to interrupt, followed by Lana, then Carmella, and finally Zelina Vega. What follows is a preview of the Battle Royal and a big brawl. In a quick fshion Naomi takes out Carmella, Sonya takes out Naomi, Peyton of The Iconics drops Lana in the corner, Vega tosses out Mandy Rose. With now Vega paying attention to Lana in the corner, Zelina hits a double knee strike. However, The Empress of Tomorrow gets back in the ring and lays out Peyton with a spinng roundhouse kick.

Randy Orton VS Jeff Hardy foe a World Cup spot and Shane McMahon.

Mr Money, Money, Money, Money, Shane McMahon introduces the match. Stating there is a lot of “firsts” happening. In which he promos Evolution. He also states that someone from the Blue Brand will win the World Cup. He then asks if Newerk is ready to find out.

Randy Orton wins over Jeff Hardy via RKO

What was something as an afterthought turned into a good match, but nothing more that that. Hardy took control with his usual strikes, but The Viper can not be held down with those moves. Orton quickly lands an uppercut and then crunches Hardy’s head in =to the steel steps, repeatedly. Randy brings the fight back in the ring, when the Viper goes for the uncomfortable moves he has done in the past. Grabbing Hardy’s gauges and twisting them, and the ref breaks the stomach turning move. Later on Orton gets a hold of Jeff and slams into the announcer’s table. The Table did not break, but the damage to Hardy was done. Later on in the match, Orton goes for his ear gauge move, but Hardy fights back. Jeff hits a couple of his signature move, but attempts a Twist of Fate, and Orton lands a RKO out of nowhere for the pin fall.
