The DL keeps haunting the Rays pitching staff as LHP Blake Snell is the latest added to the list.
It doesn’t appear bad, but nonetheless Snell is heading to the 10-day DL with shoulder fatigue. Rays manager, Kevin Cash, said his all star lefty should only miss one start. According to Tampa Bay Times, Marc Topkin, he could be back as early as the next homestand that begins July 31st against the Angels.
Topkin also reports it was something Snell has been battling.
#Rays Snell said he has been feeling fatigue in shoulder for a couple weeks, played catch Saturday and that wasn’t good, then a bullpen session Sunday didn’t go well. Still confident he’ll be back soon, quite relieved after MRI today

Snell was slated to start Tuesday night’s game against the Yankees. The Rays starter (or opener) is now TBA.
In a corresponding move, the Rays call up RHP Chih-Wei Hu from Durham.
The New York Yankees come to town to start a three-game series at the Trop tonight. RHP Hunter Wood is “opening” the game for the Rays.
