Rays Unveil Scoreboard at Local Distribution Center
Thursday morning, Rays President Brian Auld, Hillsborough County Commissioner’s Office, Sandra Murman and Pat Kemp joined Rays staff members to unveil a new scoreboard at the Feeding Tampa Bay distribution center.
The scoreboard is located in the middle of the distribution center and will identify the organization volunteering and the number of meals they have prepared. It will also include the total amount of meals that volunteers have prepared since the organization’s inception in 1982.
Throughout the morning, Rays staff members sorted food products and supplies as one of the organization’s monthly community projects.

The Rays will also donate a pallet of cereal to Feeding Tampa Bay’s annual Cereal for Summer Program. The program helps raise awareness of childhood hunger and supports children at risk for food insecurity during the summer.
The relationship between the Rays and Feeding Tampa Bay has resulted in over 500,000 meals to date. In addition, the team will continue to host collection drives for Feeding Tampa Bay at Tropicana Field. Plus, they’ll regularly volunteer at the distribution center and donate tickets to Rays games to reward volunteers.
Feeding Tampa Bay is a part of the national Feeding America Network. A network that focuses on providing food to more than 700,000 hungry in the ten county area of West Central Florida.
