Peter Bourjos replaces Kevin Kiermaier after center-fielder leaves with “illness”
On Friday, Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier was replaced during their game against the Houston Astros. At first, the speculation was that the centerfielder may have injured himself while making a play. It certainly wouldn’t be a surprise given the play that he made to rob Brian McCann of extra-bases in the second inning. It was later reported that he left due to an illness. Peter Bourjos replaced Kiermaier in the outfield. Prior to his departure, he provided the home fans with this incredible catch.

After the game
Manager Kevin Cash said that Kiermaier had informed him earlier in the day that he was not feeling well. As the game went on the situation got worse. Cash did not say anything about his availability for Saturday’s game. If he can’t go, expect Bourjos to get the start in centerfield.
