Tonight the Baseball Writers Association of America announce their annual awards nominees. The association was originally established to assist newspaper journalists; to ensure good working conditions, access to players, and so members reporting would be fair and accurate. With almost 700 members the BBWAA is also responsible for nominating the MVP, Cy Young, Rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year, and Gold Gloves. Tonight’s the night we find out who gets a chance to get their place in the record books.
The team with the most nomination of the World Series Champion Chicago Cubs. Joe Maddon is up for his 4th Manger of the Year, Jon Lester and Kyle Hendricks are up for the NL Cy Young, and the 2015 NL Rookie of the Year Kris Bryant is up for MVP.
The AL Champion Cleveland Indians also have a few nominees as well. Ace Corey Kluber is nominated for his 2nd Cy Young and Terry Francona is up for his 2nd AL Manager of the Year.

The winners are announced next week on MLB Network, each with a night of their own to showcase the nominees in each category. Rookie of the Year is announced Monday November 14, Manger of the Year the 15th, the Cy Young of the 16th, and the Most Valuable Player on the 17th; all specials start at 6pm EST.
