Wrestlemania 32: Predictions

Wrestlemania 32 Predictions.

It is that time of year. Time for the Granddaddy of them all. This time around we are going to be live from Jerry-world in D-Town, Dallas, Texas. Some will be straight forward predictions, some with a little more in-depth reasoning as to why.

Pre-show:
Team Total Divas (Paige, Brie Bella, Natalya, Alicia Fox & Eva Marie) vs. Team BAD & Blonde (Emma, Lana, Naomi, Tamina & Summer Rae)
Prediction: Team BAD and Blonde
-Lana allegedly has nuclear heat backstage, and yet, they are going full force ahead with her singles push as a member of the active roster. It makes sense for Team Total Divas to win, especially given the fact that it will probably be Brie Bellas’ last match before she retires to spend time with Daniel Bryan. I can easily see Brie getting the pinfall for her team, but the fact of the matter is, I don’t see Lana losing her first match. I’m going to go with the incredibly unpopular match prediction that Lana pins Brie for the victory.

Dudley Boyz vs. The Usos
Prediction: The Dudley Boyz
-The Usos are a great team and very exciting to see in the ring, but based on the fact that the Dudleyz are being pushed, more then likely towards a tag team affair with the freshley cemented faces that wear the tag team straps, I’ve got the Dudleys taking this one.

The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royale
Prediction: Kane
-Word on the street is that they are throttling back the Strowman push and a victory for the treasured veteran makes sense. A great feather in the cap of a guy who deserves it. A second prediction could have Sillsy’s own Mark Henry winning the thing being that he’s not long for the wrestling world and the hometown crowd would appreciate several inductions to the Hall of Pain for the grizzled veteran.

Wrestlemania 32:
United States Title Match
Kalisto (c) vs. Ryback
Prediction: Ryback
-I HATE typing that. I think after booking Kalisto so strongly against a much better athlete with Alberto Del Rio would see the young talent rise to the occasion, but I know better. The true winner would be my bladder if Kalisto wasn’t involved with this contest because I’d dip out of the room for a bathroom break and then a coffee refill in a very vicious cycle. They seem like they want to give “The Ryback” another shot and in my opinion, if he doesn’t make this work, it needs to be his last. You either have it or you don’t. Ryback will take the strap and move on to a new program after ‘Mania.

Tag Team Title Match:
The New Day (c) vs. The League of Nations
Prediction: The New Day.
-Lotta folks saying that The LoN doesn’t deserve to be here? Uh, why? You’ve got four tremendous hands against the hottest group in the fed and it is easy to boo the heels in this case. The four on three concept certainly makes this intriguing and could offer some outside interference from a veteran star, a hall of famer or something of the sort, but ultimately, I see the New Day with a grand entrance and a grand victory in what should be a great battle. For grins and giggles, let’s say the victory has Kofi Kingston hitting Trouble in Paradise on King Barrett for the W.

Chris Jericho vs. AJ Styles
Prediction: AJ Styles
-The real winner in this case will be fans of the sport, and more importantly fans of WRESTLING. I said a nasty word! If they give this one twenty or thirty minutes, I feel bad for whomever has to follow this. Singles action between these two has already given us three incredible bouts and the fourth, better known as the “blow-off match” will see my second favorite wrestler of all time and the wiley veteran, Chris Jericho, doing business for AJ Styles. Styles could pull this out with a Styles Clash after not being able to keep the crafty heel down with a Phenomenal Forearm or not being able to get him to tap out to the Calf Crusher. I think this “Mania Moment” will elevate Styles to a future championship opportunity, whether it be the US or the IC Title. I’m very much looking forward to this.

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match
Kevin Owens (c) vs. Sami Zayn vs. Stardust vs. The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Zack Ryder vs. Sin Cara
Prediction: Kevin Owens
-Zayn could sneak away with the belt at “KO Mania”, but I don’t believe that will be the case. WWE certainly can market this feud between this familiar foes and I think Zayn will be just within reach of the gold, only to see his opportunity thwarted by the Intercontinental champ. Owens retains in a match that will produce memorable spots and some “Zack Ryder” chants which could be awesome for the underrated talent. Looking forward to it.

Divas Championship Match:
Charlotte (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks
Prediction: Charlotte
-Wait what?! Yes, believe me, Sasha Banks could walk out of ‘Mania having “had a dream, and made it”, but I think the wild card in this occasion is the Lass Kicker. I expect a sensational match-up and I cannot wait to see the new Title that these women deserve, one without a giant butterfly. I will be glad to see my prediction fail here, but I expect Sasha to come close and for Becky to eat a Natural Selection and a three count only for the debut of the title and hopefully, NXT Womens Champion, Bayley, the next night on Raw. If Sasha doesn’t win the belt here, she’ll win it in April in a singles bout, but I’ll go against the grain here and say that Charlotte retains at ‘Mania. She’s been great with the belt so far.

No Holds Barred Street Fight:
Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar (w/ “The Advocate” Paul Heyman)
Prediction: Brock Lesnar
-This is going to be a stellar contest and the one I’m looking forward to the most on the card even over Shane and Taker. There will be blood, incredible spots and two guys beating the holy hell out of one another. Ambrose winning would be the biggest upset in history and something the fans would enjoy, but Brock losing doesn’t make business sense to me here. It doesn’t hurt Ambrose to lose, what does however, is if he’s mauled by the Beast. This needs to be a back and forth affair with Brock pulling out all the stops, BARELY securing the victory. I hope that’s how it’s booked!

Hell In A Cell Match:
Shane McMahon vs. The Undertaker
Prediction: The Undertaker
-If Shane wins, he gets control of RAW and ‘Taker is FIRED. Big Evil will bring those soup-bone fists out and they will beat Shane O’Mac from pillar to post. What makes this match intriguing is that nobody honestly knows how this ends. I can’t see Taker losing again at ‘Mania…EVER. I hope they don’t do the obvious screw-job where Vince helps Taker win. It makes sense because Shane could still pull an Eddie Guerrero after a loss and “I’m Your PAPI” Vince by spilling the beans about the secret leading to a brand split. I would love to see interference from The Bullet Club or even a returning John Cena, who helps Vince win, turning heel in the process. Cena could show up anywhere tonight and I expect a big cameo, whether it be here or in the Main Event. Balor, Anderson and Gallows helping Shane win would be incredible, but I don’t see them going that route. Taker wins and Vince comes out to celebrate the next night on RAW.

WWE World Heavyweight Title Match:
Triple H (c) vs. Roman Reigns
Prediction: Roman Reigns
-I have about twenty scenarios that I’d use to have HHH retain with interference from Cena, Ambrose, The Wyatts and others, but ultimately, I think they are going to put the belt back on the chosen one in Reigns. I actually like Roman Reigns quite a bit. I think he’s a quality hand who works to get better and do business. I just happen to think he is booked poorly. I would love to see Reigns win with help from Vince McMahon after a Taker win, turning Roman heel and ending ‘Mania on a high note. Ultimately, Vince will screw HHH and Steph, have his beef with Shane and develop a multitude of storylines, but that’s too many irons in the fire. A good plan has Reigns winning, Triple H realizing that he got bested by a better wrestler and a returning John Cena, who isn’t a heel, is shocked by the turn in April or May by the newest member of the Authority, Roman Reigns. HHH and Steph can work the mic for Reigns and let him kick tail and take names. Again, there are many options, but at ‘Mania, a three count for Reigns seems the most logical for the moment.
