The Cowboys fall, as New England, Atlanta, an Oakland all help their case for the number one spot.
The AFC has proven to be the more dominant conference through two weeks of the 2017 NFL season. Teams such as the Patriots, Chiefs, Raiders and Broncos all produced hefty wins in week two.
After week one, my rankings had the Dallas Cowboys in the number one spot after their young core came on strong in 2016 and during week one, showed that they haven’t lost a step. But after last weeks loss, we have a new team in the number one spot.
32. New York Jets (0-2, Last Week: 32)
The Jets got blown out by the Oakland Raiders by the score of 45-20. Josh McCown has shown his time as starter needs to soon end, plus the Jets defense clearly needs to add more help if they’re allowing this many points a week.
31. Chicago Bears (0-2, Last Week: 29)
Mike Glennon has been set up for failure so far in his career. After his tenure with the Bucs ended, he went elsewhere to prove he could be an NFL starter. But after the team chose Mitchell Trubisky third overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, fans now chant for Trubisky behind center. Although it hasn’t happened yet, coach John Fox must be fragile with his situation at quarter back.
For the Bears last Sunday, they went into Tampa Bay fresh off a last-minute loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Right off the bat you could tell this one was going to get ugly. 29-0 at the half, the team managed one touchdown and found not many positives during week two.
30. Indianapolis Colts (0-2, Last Week: 31)
The Colts are not a bad football team, when Andrew Luck is on the field. Now falling to 0-2, the team now awaits for their quarterback to be ready to go. Although it looks like he is weeks away from recovering, the team could still fight for a spot in the playoffs in a very weak AFC south division.
29. Cincinnati Bengals (0-2, Last Week: 28)

There are too many questions to ask when it comes to the Bengals. But one thing is for certain, they have to start winning before people get fired. It’s hard to believe coach Marvin Lewis isn’t under the hot seat, alongside Andy Dalton. The front office has made it clear, after their firing of the offensive coordinator, Ken Zampese, that they are ready to go under construction this season.
28. New Orleans Saints (0-2, Last Week: 26)
This teams defense may be one of the worst in a very long time. Recent struggles have been obvious for the Saints, but with Drew Brees now at the back-end of his career, you would think the team would go all out to help the defense. After getting torched by the Patriots in week two, the team now sits at 0-2 in one of the best divisions in football.
27. Cleveland Browns (0-2, Last Week: 27)
Once again, the Browns lose a game to a good football team. Deshone Kizer shows good traits but needs time to develop his game. The Browns are looking good potential wise but still have a lot of work to do. Once the team wins their first game, it will begin to come easier for the young football team.
26. San Francisco 49ers (0-2, Last Week: 24)
The Niners defense hasn’t looked horrible two weeks into the 2017 season, but the offense can’t seem to get it going. They almost took down Seattle but fell just short. Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch have this team going in the right direction.
25. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1, Last Week: 19)
After their week one beatdown of Houston, many expected the Jaguars defense to come back and repeat what happened. It didn’t turn out that way in their home opener against Tennessee. Neither side of the ball produced and it was a total team loss in week two.
24. Houston Texans (1-1, Last Week: 25)

Houston won on Thursday, but just barely. An ugly game for both sides as the Texans scored the games only touchdown on a 49-yard run by Deshaun Watson. The defense played well, but I think that came with a little help of the struggling Bengals offense.
23. Los Angeles Chargers (0-2, Last Week: 30)
The team has now lost two games off of a missed game-winning field goal. Rookie kicker Younghoe Koo was blocked in week one at Denver, and now missed in the Chargers home opener against Miami. Philip Rivers and company now have to put themselves up in the game, not to rely on their kicker.
22. Arizona Cardinals (1-1, Last Week: 21)
The Cardinals had to go into OT to take the Luck-less Colts down. Arizona just doesn’t look like what you’d have expected coming into the season. Now with David Johnson gone, the team looks lost. This team needs to step their play up as the season progresses.
21. Buffalo Bills (1-1, Last Week: 22)
The Bills were one catch away from taking the Panthers down in the final seconds, but they couldn’t manage to put a touchdown on the board against the Panthers. Buffalo just needs to work out their offensive struggles and come back hard in week three against Denver.
