Rays will open 2019 with a seven-game home stand that includes interleague play.
On Wednesday afternoon, MLB released the full slate of games for the 2019 season. The Rays will open at home for the 10th year in a row and for the first time ever against an AL West team. The Houston Astros come to Tropicana Field for Opening Day on Thursday, March 28th for a four-game series. That will be followed by a three-game, interleague series against the Colorado Rockies. March 28th is also the earliest Opening day in Rays history. This season currently holds that record (March 29th).
Interleague slate
For the seventh-straight season, the Rays have 20 games scheduled against the National League. All five teams from the NL West will be on that slate of games. The annual home-and-home with the Miami Marlins is also in the mix.
April 5th, the Rays head to San Francisco to play in the Giants home opener. It will be the first time Evan Longoria faces his former team.
