Smackdown Live recap: Tonight a big stars make travel questionable paths. A rematch 12 years in the making! Thanksgiving Feast fight! Here is the results from SDL from the Staples Center, 11/20/18.

The Queen is on a new path. World’s greatest tag team. Thanksgiving Feast fight.

Something is evil about Charlotte Flair.

The Queen opens the show and gloats about beating down Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series. The crowd is behind her as well. Flair states that she did what she did for Becky Lynch and the ladies in the locker room. SDL GM, Paige arrives and says that she isn’t upset what Flair did to Rousey. However, reinstates the warning Ronda gave Flair on WWE Raw. Flair is unfazed, and says she will do what she wants. Paige acknowledges that and hands Flair a $100,000 fine for putting hands on five WWE officials. The IIconics then arrive withe their usual banter. Charlotte interrupts and quickly challenges either of them. Leading to the first match of the night.

Charlotte Flair vs Billie Kay. Flair wins via Natural Selection for pin.

The Queen starts the match off by delivering big Flair chops on Billie Kay. Flair continues her dominance over Kay and attempts to lock in the Figure Four. However, Billie escapes and leading for Peyton Royce to distract Flair. Bille Kay then hits a big boot outside the ring on Flair. Back in the ring, Billie’s control over Charlotte is short lived. Flair is dispalying a new “Evil glare” on quickly hits the Natural Selection on Bille Kay for the pin fall. Shortly after the win, Charlotte calls out Peyton Royce for another match. Reluctantly, Royce agrees.

Charlotte vs Peyton Royce. Charlotte Flair wins via disqualification.

After much coercing from Billie Kay, Peyton faces off vs Flair. Peyton keeps running in and out the ring. Flair then finally get a hold of Royce. Delivering hard shots after hard shots, all with an evil look on her face. Peyton, eventually mounts a small offense with hitting multiple knees to Flair’s head. Charlotte dodges the last knee and sets up Royce with a slam. Billie Kay then runs in an attacks Flair, earning Flair with a DQ win. After beating Flair down, The IIconics go outside to grab a steel chair. Yet The queen Spears both of them and proceed to ram both their heads in the announcer’s table. All while having a evil, satisfied look. There’s a new Queen and she wants heads to roll.

World’s Greatest Tag Team on Miz TV.

The A-Lister makes his way out for Miz TV and to a big crowd pop. The Miz introduces his guest, Shane McMahon. After much kissing up to Shane, The Miz asks Shane to join him as a tag team partner. Shane reluctantly agrees after a local talent, The Bryant Brothers enter the ring. The impromptu match involved The Miz beating down the talent and showing off in front of Shane. This allowed an opening for the local talent roll up Miz for a pin fall.

Thanksgiving Feast Fight. The New Day vs The Big Bar. New Day wins via turkey infused pin fall.

It’s another holiday, so it’s time for another food inspired fight between The New Day and The Big Bar. Xavier Woods receives a beating from all the members of the Bar and Big Show. Each taking turns landing big shots on Woods. Eventually, Woods gets Kofi Kingston a hot tag. Kofi goes all in with signature moves, then Big E is tagged in. The Big Show sees the trouble the team is in and attempts to get in the ring. However, Big E sends Big Show in to one of the food tables surrounding the ring. What follows is a Turkey infused offense by New Day and ending with a Big E pinning Sheamus. Afterwards, Cesaro takes the brunt of food attacks from New Day. Happy Turkey Day!

Team in turmoil? The Yes movement is dead. A rematch 12 years in the making.

Mandy Rose/Sonya DeVille vs Asuka/Naomi. Asuka/Naomi win via Asuka-Lock.

The tam of Rose and Deville are going through some ups and downs. So a match vs The Glow Master and The Empress of Tomorrow should bring them together, right? Quickly Naomi and Asuka gain control landing double hip shots on the troubled team outside the ring. Rose recovers, and gets a blind tag from Deville. Sonya quickly spears Naomi and lock in multiple submission moves. After Naomi receives a beating and giving one back to DeVille, Rose and Asuka both get a hot tag. The Empress, takes control landing a Shining Wizard for a two count. DeVill blind tags in when Rose goes to land a jumping knee, pulling back and not hitting Sonya. This allowed enough distraction for Asuka put DeVille in the Asuka-Lock for the win.

The NEW Daniel Bryan.

The WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan makes his way to the ring. The American Dragon states that while in a hyperbaric chamber, he had an epiphany. Bryan felt betrayed threes ago, when he announce his retirement. Daniel said his dreams to wanted to fight and refused to allow him to give up. The leader of the Yes Movement, now states that movement is dead. There is a new Daniel Bryan, a new movement, the movement of fighting for your dreams. Daniel Bryan then raises his title and has the ring announcer refer to him as “The NEW Daniel Bryan”

Randy Orton vs Rey Mysterio. Orton wins via RKO.

The last time these two men fought each other was 12 years ago. TWELVE YEARS AGO, and it showed. What was once the main event fighters, became the main event by default. I’m not taking away from the two future HOFers, they can still brawl with the younger guys. However, for a follow up show for one of WWE’s “Big Four” ppvs, there could’ve been something bigger.

Rey gains quick control of the match, using quick offense. Mysterio goes for the 619, but Orton dodges and attacks. The Viper, Randy Orton continues to attack and goes to remove Rey’s mask, then cut to commercial break. After the break, Rey seemed in control. However, it was short lived as Orton hits a big clothesline and resumes his mission in removing Rey’s mask. Mysterio then mounts an offense and takes it to Randy. Mysterio hits a seating senton, wheel barrow face plant, and spring board leg drop. Rey goes for a 619 but it’s blocked by Orton, and Randy fights back. Mysterio regains footing, hits the 619 on Orton, yet Randy Rolls out. Rey goes for a baseball slide oustside, but Orton hits a RKO in mid air. Then Orton rolls Rey back in the ring for another RKO and the win.

After the match, Orton wasn’t done. Grabbing a steel chair, wrapping it around Rey’s head and then ramming Mysterio in the ring post. Thus allowing Randy Orton to claim his trophy, Rey Mysterio’s mask. The Lucha Legend’s face was not exposed (this time), but the show ended with paramedics tending to Rey and Orton raising his newest trophy in the air.

After effects from Survivor Series?

Practically nothing story wise was advanced from Survivor Series. It seems that WWE is again spinning their wheels and the injury bug has put a damper on the hot angles. WWE may be scrambling to keep the promotion going after one of their “Big 4” ppvs, and it shows. The unofficial “Road to WrestleMania” has started off with a some big road bumps, whether the WWE can recover from it remains to be seen.
