Kiermaier to Play Despite Soreness vs Blue Jays

Rays Pregame:

Despite being hit last night by Blue Jays starter Francisco Liriano, Kevin Kiermaier will play today versus the Blue Jays. Kiermaier said there was some soreness, and will adapt a Moises Alou style grip when at the plate tonight.

Following last night’s loss, the Rays will turn to Jake Odorizzi  (1-1 | 3.50 ERA) as he faces off against Marco Estrada (1-1 | 2.43 ERA)

Erasmo Ramirez and his wife recently welcomed their first child Addison Maree, Erasmo says he’s happy she loves sleeping after eating.

  • Before the game today the Rays activated Erasmo Ramierez from paternity leave, while designating for assignment Justin Marks
  • The season series between the Rays and Blue Jays is tied 4-4 with 11 games remaining.
  • Last Night Daniel Robertson and Derek Norris hit back to back HR’s. That was the second time this season the Rays have done that.
